Support for SEND Students

At City College Plymouth, we are dedicated to ensuring that all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), have the support they need to thrive. You may be eligible for a range of benefits, including free stationery kits, free meals on study days, packed lunch vouchers for off-site visits, and contributions towards meals during work placements. We also offer travel assistance, including bus passes or contributions toward train travel, to help you get to and from campus with ease.

Support Available

Household income under £28,000 
  • free College meal on study days on campus 
  • packed lunch voucher for visits offsite 
  • work placement – monthly meal contribution paid direct to bank
  • travel assistance – household income £35k*
  • stationery kit.

*Includes local authority travel support

*Bus pass available for students living more than three miles from the campus OR contribution towards train costs for areas not serviced by bus

Breakfast Club

  • every student can access a free breakfast on College days
  • available from the Refectory between 7.30am – 11.00am
  • choose from hot breakfast baps/wraps and a healthy breakfast bar
  • hot/cold drinks available
  • gluten free/vegan options available upon request

Travel Support Only

Household income between £28,000 – £35,000 
  • free bus pass*
  • contribution payment towards train travel**

*Bus pass available for students living more than three miles from the campus OR contribution for trains or areas not serviced by buses

  • apply online at cityplym.paymystudent.com/portal please check that you are applying for 2024/25 Student Learning Fund
  • apply early to make sure your Student Learning Fund is available for the start of your course
