Operation Encompass is a safeguarding initiative that informs schools and colleges about any domestic incidents a student may have been exposed to.
This helps ensure that the necessary support is provided to children and their families who may be experiencing difficulties following a domestic abuse incident.
Before the start of the next College day, a member of the College staff known as a Key Adult is trained to liaise with the police to receive confidential information about the incident.
At City College Plymouth, Bridgette Henry is the Key Adult responsible for ensuring that the College makes provision for any possible difficulties experienced by the affected students and their families.
If a child or young person has been exposed to or involved in any domestic incident, the College is committed to providing the best possible support to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
