Our Digital Functional Skills courses are designed to give you the practical knowledge and confidence you need to thrive. You’ll learn how to use different devices, handle information securely, create and edit digital content, communicate effectively online, and carry out safe online transactions.

These skills will not only boost your employability in an increasingly digital job market but also empower you to engage confidently with online services and meet the digital literacy requirements essential for further education and training.

Course information

The course will cover the following topics:

  • using devices and handling information
  • creating and editing digital content
  • communicating effectively online
  • understanding safe online transactions
  • being safe and responsible online.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course

The qualification is assessed externally and marked by the awarding body. It consists of one assessment split into two sections: a multiple-choice and short-answer paper, followed by a practical skills task.

Upon successful completion, you may progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Digital Skills for Work at the College.
