At City College Plymouth we offer a number of GCSE retakes and this Chemistry GCSE could be essential if you plan to train for a career in a science-related field. Chemistry is the science of substances, their properties and reactions. If you picture scientists surrounded by test tubes and bubbling beakers, chemistry is probably the field you’re thinking of! Science has a huge role in the modern world and can have a positive impact on people’s lives. This course will be studied one evening per week, for one full academic year.

What's it all about?
Course information
If you’ve sat GCSEs before, you will need to have achieved a grade 3 (D) in English/maths or a level 2 qualification in literacy/numeracy to retake this GCSE. If not, you may be required to undertake an initial assessment in order to be accepted onto this course.
On successful completion of this course, you may be able to progress to a higher level science course at the College. Alternatively, you may wish to progress to higher level education such as A Levels, BTECs or a degree.
