Invest in Future Talent with a Foundation Apprentice

Hiring a Foundation Apprentice is a smart way to support your workforce needs while helping a young person take their first steps into a career.

Foundation Apprenticeships give young people aged 16 to 21 the chance to gain hands-on experience in the workplace while developing essential skills and receiving structured training. They are also available to individuals up to age 24 if they have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), are care leavers, or have spent time in prison.

These Apprenticeships typically last a minimum of eight months but can be extended to suit individual learning needs. As an employer, you play a vital role in helping them build their future, and you benefit from a motivated, supported young person who is keen to learn and grow.

Why Get Involved?

Foundation Apprentices are trained to meet real business needs. By offering an Apprenticeship, you can shape their skills and knowledge to fit your organisation’s culture and expectations from the start.

Young people bring new ideas, energy and a willingness to learn. They can add value to your team while gaining the confidence and experience that only the workplace can provide.

You’ll receive support from the College throughout the process, from recruitment and training to regular progress updates. We handle the paperwork so you can focus on developing your apprentice in the workplace.

Employers who take on a Foundation Apprentice may be eligible for up to £2,000 per apprentice, subject to retention and progression. It’s a great way to invest in future talent with reduced financial risk.

Demonstrating your commitment to developing young people can enhance your organisation’s reputation as a responsible employer and help attract future talent.
