Bus Passes

If you are looking to travel here by bus, you may be eligible for a subsidised bus pass for Plymouth Citybus and Stagecoach routes around the city and our surrounding towns.

Assistance will be given to full-time students aged 16 to 18 who live more than three miles from the College site they attend. Support will be available either in the form of a FREE bus pass or a contribution towards travel costs if you live in an area where there is no suitable bus service. If you are a full-time student whose household income is over £25,000, we offer the choice of Citybus or Stagecoach bus passes. These are available from the College Transport Fund at a subsidised cost of either £105 or £200 per term depending where you live in Devon.

You can apply via our online store at onlinestore.cityplym.ac.uk. Please contact the Student Funding team to ensure that we can provide you with a bus pass. If we are unable to support your request, you may be able to apply to your Local Authority for support.

If you live in Cornwall you will need to apply for travel support through Cornwall Council. If your application is approved and are eligible for our bursary, then the Student Funding team will be able to help you with this cost.

The College provides a free bus service for all students in conjunction with Stagecoach, for travel between Kings Road, Plymouth rail station and the city centre – service 36. You will need to produce a valid College student ID card when boarding these services. If the card is not presented, you will be charged the normal applicable rate for the journey. City College students can travel, free of charge, on the number 36 service without their student ID card throughout September. This free shuttle service links the city centre with Kings Road. The service runs at various times of the day and is available term-time only.
