We are running an Introduction to Welding Skills Bootcamp and an Advanced Welding Skills Bootcamp.
The following topics will be covered:
- health and safety in an engineering environment
- correct use of MMA/MIG welding via an augmented reality welder
- Correct use of MMA/MIG welding equipment
- intro to TIG welding
- using welding equipment to carry out different types of welded joints
- employability suite of online learning.
On successful completion of the Bootcamp, you will have an interview with a local engineering/manufacturing company.
Skills Bootcamp in EV & Charging Infrastructure
The Skills Bootcamp in EV and Charging Infrastructure is an intensive programme designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to install, inspect, and maintain electric vehicle charge points (EVCPs) in line with UK regulations. Delivered by industry-qualified professionals, the course is based on the nationally recognised EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points. Practical training, including testing protocols and smart charging, ensures learners gain the confidence and competence to perform safely and effectively in real-world roles.

Skills Bootcamp in Renewables and Solar Energy
The Skills Bootcamp in Renewables and Solar Energy is designed to rapidly upskill learners for employment in the fast-growing solar PV and battery storage sectors. Delivered over 60 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), the programme combines two accredited level 3 qualifications:
- EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
- EAL Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems
Together, these qualifications provide the knowledge and practical skills needed to install, commission, and maintain integrated solar and battery storage systems in line with industry standards.

Solar PV Module
- Safety, planning, and regulatory compliance.
- DC/AC principles, circuit protection, and earthing.
- PV system components & configurations (roof-mounted & ground-mounted).

Coaching & Mentoring in the Health Care Sector
This 10-week Coaching and Mentoring Skills Bootcamp, aligned to Level 3, is designed to equip healthcare professionals with essential coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills that are immediately applicable within their place of employment. Delivery will be contextualised using real-world challenges and lived experience from the healthcare sector, allowing participants to apply theory to practice immediately. This Skills Bootcamp is aimed at those already employed in the healthcare sector.

Interview with a local employer
Upon successful completion of the course we will arrange for you to attend a job interview with a local employer. This will give you the opportunity to showcase a portfolio which will be created as part of your course and with your new skills, you will be able to stand out against other candidates being interviewed for the live vacancy.

If you are interested in using Skills Bootcamps to upskill current employees, you will be expected to contribute to the cost of training. Large employers will contribute 30% of the cost, and small or medium employers (SMEs – fewer than 250 staff) will contribute 10%.
