What's it all about?

This course is delivered through the art and design practice curriculum, allowing you to specialise in media subjects. The awarding certificate will indicate an art and design qualification.

Course information

This course focuses on developing skills in creative software and professional practice. You will gain practical experience in content creation, photography, sound and graphic design, enabling you to produce creative and technically sound work. The curriculum also covers industry-standard practices, including file management, design and filming principles, and audio-visual communication.

In order to be successful on this course you will need to have gained GCSE English and GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above.

You will be assessed via two assignments, each consisting of a range of tasks completed throughout the year.

Upon successful completion, you may progress onto:

  • a higher education course or degree in the same or similar subject area 
  • an Apprenticeship.
