Gao Jinchuan

Gao Jinchuan is from mainland China and took on a business foundation course through the Prince Foundation Programme at City College Plymouth before progressing onto Business Management at University of Plymouth. Here he talks about his time at the College.

“The process of studying at City College Plymouth is probably the happiest time I’ve had in a long time. Before coming to college, I was studying at an international school, but due to the teaching of the school and some family issues, I chose to come to the UK. At first, I was very reluctant because it wasn’t my original plan.

However, after entering the course, I made good friends and the teachers are so friendly. When you don’t understand something, the teachers will keep on working with you until you do. The positive experience allowed me to come to peace with my decision to move away from my family.

Plymouth is also very beautiful, I feel safe and comfortable studying here. Plymouth also has a lot of history and culture. One of Plymouth’s most famous landmarks is the harbour, a beautiful landscaped public park offering spectacular views of the sea and historical sites, including a statue commemorating the Mayflower, marking the departure point of the first settlers to America in 1620. Anyone interested in the history of mankind will love this city. I’m a prime example of that!”
