Syabani Lathifatual Hasna

Hasna joined the International Foundation Programme from Indonesia studying Science at the College before progressing onto an immunology degree at University of Glasgow. She tells us her experience of studying at the College.

“I wasn’t expecting anything special from the foundational programme, but fate had other plans for me! Plymouth wasn’t just a city to me, it became my second home. Six months might sound like a long time, but it wasn’t nearly enough for me. If I were to describe how I felt after leaving, it would be longing. I truly enjoyed walking to college with my housemates, having dinner with my wonderful host parents, exploring the city and making memories.

The teachers I had at City College Plymouth were absolutely lovely. Every lesson was fun and enjoyable, and I’m truly grateful to them. Although there were difficult moments during my studies, my host parents were always there to comfort me. They treated me like family and I love them as if they were my own.

Lastly, the bond I share with my friends is indescribable – it’s truly precious. I would like to thank everyone involved in my journey, especially PDVL Indonesia, who supported me through everything and have helped shape me into the person I am today.”
