What's it all about?

This Zurich Insurance certificate in welder testing is a practical welding course with a small element of theory. Delivered at City College Plymouth, the training is designed to give you the practical skills for welding specific joints and the knowledge to understand welding safety, machinery set up and welding terminology.

Course information

The course involves mainly practical sessions which will give you the skills to tackle the five welding tests. The element of theory involved will enable you to answer the verbal questions on welding health and safety and your chosen welding process. You will be required to select one process from manual metal arc (stick) welding, MIG welding, TIG welding or oxy-acetylene welding.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.

Five practical skills tests and verbal questioning are used for the award of this certificate.

On successful completion of the course you will be able to benefit from enhanced employment opportunities in the sector.
