What's it all about?

This City & Guilds welding course is a level 1 evening course at City College Plymouth. It provides welding training largely of a practical nature, with a small element of theory. It is designed to give you the practical skills for welding specific joints and the knowledge to understand welding safety, machinery set-up and welding terminology.

Course information

The course involves mainly practical sessions which will give you the skills to tackle the five welding tests to the given standard. The element of theory involved will enable you to answer the verbal questions on welding health and safety and your chosen welding process.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.

Five practical skills tests and verbal questioning are used for the award of this certificate.

On successful completion of the course you will be offered the opportunity to progress to the level 2 welding course.
