What's it all about?

Excel is the market-leading software for financial management, however, locked away in its core is a whole host of other tools that can be used both in business and at home. If you have wanted to understand some of the basics of this software but lack the ability, we have set up a course for you.

In this one-day course you will be able to understand the purpose and uses of this application and you will have practical experience in creating your own spreadsheet. Experience in Excel looks good on any application, book your one-day course today and we will unlock the secrets of this popular software package.

 

Course information

The skills and knowledge acquired in this Excel beginners’ workshop will open the door to using this
application. During the day you will:

  • be introduced to the menu system
  • learn about column, rows and cells
  • learn how to use worksheets
  • practise formatting cells
  • use automated tools
  • learn basic arithmetic and formula
  • learn how to use tables
  • receive an introduction to using charts
  • begin to use templates.

 

There are no entry requirements for this course.

If this course is being delivered remotely, you will need a desktop computer/laptop and a copy of Excel installed. Internet connection is essential.

 

There are no exams, however, assessments on each of the areas will be carried out throughout the day.

 

After completion of this course, you could further your knowledge by studying our intermediate Microsoft Excel course (EXL2), which will continue your progression in spreadsheets.
