What's it all about?

This qualification introduces the responsibilities of being a parent. It covers the welfare and care of babies and young children, respecting and valuing them, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. 

It is made up of units from the Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People. This means credits can be transferred over so there is no need to repeat learning if you progress to complete the Level 2 Certificate.

  • parenting and healthy lifestyles

  • rights and responsibilities in relation to parenting.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.  

The course is assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks, coursework or methods such as oral questioning.  

Upon successful completion, you may progress to the Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People.
