What's it all about?

This course is a proven route into employment or higher education. The course combines a variety of modules to provide you with an outstanding level of sports knowledge, while being able to learn and improve your skills as a fitness industry practitioner of the future.

The course will allow you to develop skills and knowledge both inside a theory and practical setting and is a real must for someone interested in working in the competitive sports and fitness industry.

Course information

The course involves a variety of modules over its two year duration. The course works on all sports aspects from anatomy and physiology, to sports injuries. This new and exciting fitness pathway has been specifically designed by staff to allow you to develop a range of skills in and around the fitness industry.

You will need to have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including maths or English.

 

This course is assessed on a course work basis, but has an external research task both set and marked by the awarding body. This research project is completed in year two of your studies.

Upon successful completion you may progress to:

  • the Foundation Degree in Strength and Conditioning at the College 
  • the Foundation Degree in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at the College 
  • other higher education study 
  • employment with one of our city partners.
