About the course

This course is a proven route into employment or higher education. The course combines a
variety of modules to provide you with an outstanding level of sports knowledge, while being
able to learn and improve your skills as a fitness industry practitioner of the future. The course
will allow you to develop skills and knowledge both inside a theory and practical setting and is
an essential qualification for those interested in working in the competitive sports and fitness
industry.

What you'll learn

The course covers a variety of modules over its two year duration. This includes all sports
aspects from anatomy and physiology, to sports injuries. This new and exciting fitness pathway
has been specifically designed by lecturers to allow you to develop a range of skills in and
around the fitness industry.

Entry requirements

You will need to have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths or
English.

Assessments/Exams

The course is assessed via coursework, but has an external research task both set and marked
by the awarding body. This research project is completed in year two of your studies.

What's next?

Upon successful completion you may progress to:

  • the Foundation Degree in Strength and Conditioning at the College
  • the Foundation Degree in Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at the College
  • other HE study.

Fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2020/21 (August 2020 – July 2021). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2021/22.
