Course information

During the one-year course, you will study the following units:
  • the online world

  • technology systems
  • a digital portfolio
  • spreadsheet development
  • website development
  • automated computer systems
  • computational thinking
  • a technology business
  • IT work experience.

     

Your study programme will also include:
  • English and maths (depending on your GCSEs)

  • 30 hours of work experience
  • tutorial.

     

In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need one of the following:

  • four GCSEs at grades 3-1 (including English and maths)
  • a BTEC foundation diploma in a related subject 
  • an NVQ level 1/technical certificate in a related subject 
  • equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.
     

You will be assessed through a variety of methods including presentations, assignments and exams.

On successful completion of the course, you may progress onto the Level 3 in Computing, or the T Level in Digital Production, Design & Development.
