You’ll study a range of areas such as programming, cybersecurity and web design. It’s an exciting course which will help you prepare for the next steps on this cutting-edge career path.

Course information

The course is broken down into the following eight units:

  • web design
  • cybersecurity
  • essentials of it
  • emerging technologies
  • programming solutions
  • participating in a project
  • games creation
  • mobile apps.

In order to be successful on this course you will need a grade 3 (D) in GCSE English and maths and two other subjects. However, there may be occasions where you will be accepted to join the course with qualifications lower than this if you can show commitment, enthusiasm and some prior knowledge.

Most units will be assessed via coursework. Two units will be externally assessed via exams.

Upon successful completion you may progress to the level 3 course in computing at the College.
