This course introduces students to the concept of work and vocational exploration. Through classroom and real-world tasks, students begin developing personal organisation, communication, and time management skills. They explore different job roles through enterprise, work tasters, and community-based projects.

The course supports confidence-building and problem-solving in group and individual contexts. Students reflect on their strengths and preferences and begin to understand the expectations of a work environment, including appropriate behaviours, hygiene, and teamwork. This foundational year prepares them to explore more targeted vocational pathways in entry 3.
