Course information

This course covers the key stages of preparing for work, including career planning, making applications, and interview skills. You will explore your own strengths, interests, and goals so you can identify suitable job opportunities and make realistic plans for moving into employment. You will also develop the practical skills needed to search for jobs effectively and understand what employers are looking for. 

The course also focuses on helping you to produce strong applications and feel more confident at interviews. This includes writing and improving CVs, completing application forms, tailoring applications to specific jobs, and practising interview techniques through mock interviews and feedback. By the end of the course, you should feel better prepared to present yourself professionally and take the next step towards work. 

You must be aged 19 or over and currently looking for employment to apply for this course. 

Assessment will be carried out through a workbook-style coursework approach, where you will complete practical tasks and activities throughout the course. You will also take part in a mock interview, which will help assess your readiness for employment and your ability to apply the skills covered in the course.

The aim of this course is to help you enter employment. By the end of the course, you will have a stronger CV, better application skills, and more confidence for interviews, all of which will support you in applying for jobs and securing work. 

After completing the course, you can use your new skills to search for and apply for suitable jobs, attend interviews with greater confidence, and take the next step into employment.
