This top-up degree focuses on harnessing digital technologies to create interactive experiences beyond entertainment. It will appeal to those who have a games design and production or virtual technologies background that wish to pursue specialist areas of expertise within the digital technology sector. It aims to develop innovative experiences using virtual reality technology and/or games technology.


You will work with clients in order to provide game-based or virtual reality solutions. Client work will give you access to a diverse learning environment and develop your interpersonal, management and production skills, whilst honing your production skills to meet industry standards.


Interactive digital immersion seeks to develop profound immersive experiences that can have a positive far reaching impact on society. This course places the students at the helm of the latest technology and invites them to shape the creative application that the latest technology affords.

Course information

This is an innovative programme fashioned in careful consideration of potential progression routes into industry and self-employment (independent developers or freelancers).

Some of the subject areas you will study include:

  • music for immersion
  • environmental art (optional)
  • programming for development (optional)
  • client-orientated production
  • justification and funding
  • project innovation.

You will need to have a level 5 qualification (for example the Foundation Degree in Games Design and Production). Applicants will be required to attend an interview and undertake a practical assessment.

All assessment will be via coursework.
