What's it all about?

This Foundation Degree is especially suitable for those in full-time employment in the electrical and electronic engineering industry, and is designed to provide you with the sound principles required of electrical and electronic engineering. We will take your natural talents in creative thinking, design and technical know-how and put them to work on a range of projects. As an engineer, you will work at the cutting edge of technology, transforming today’s ideas into tomorrow’s reality.

We welcome applications from those who have all of the following:

  • 56 UCAS tariff points, to include a full level 3 qualification, or a T Level pass in an appropriate subject area
  • four GCSEs at grades 4 (C), to include English, maths and combined science

or alternatively:

  • equivalent qualifications
  • relevant work experience.

Should entry requirements not be met then individual cases will be considered.

Assessment will be through a mixture of coursework and examinations.

On successful completion of this course, you may be able to progress to:

  • BSc (Hons) Integrated Technologies Engineering at City College Plymouth.
  • BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Plymouth at level-5. A minimum of 60% aggregate from the Foundation Degree is required to make this progression
  • enter into employment as an electrical or electronic engineer.
