What's it all about?

This course explores the world of management and leadership, covering everything from setting and monitoring goals to providing clear direction and motivating teams. You will also learn how to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, navigate the challenges of change, and approach problem-solving with confidence.

Designed to support your development as a manager, the course focuses on the practical skills that employers value most, helping you lead effectively and drive meaningful results. 

Course information

This course consists of a range of units, from which you will select three:
principles of management and leadership in an organisational context
managing stakeholder relationships
managing conflict
managing projects to achieve results
managing change
creating and delivering operational plans
managing finance. 

To be successful on this level of course, you will need to have achieved: 

  •  a level 2 qualification in English and maths
  • the Level 3 Diploma in Management and Leadership, or possess equivalent operational management experience. 
Prior to acceptance, your application will be screened by the Programme Manager. If necessary, a telephone interview will be conducted to ensure you understand the structure and demands of the programme and to discuss your suitability. 

You will be assessed through a written assignment for each unit, typically between 3,000 and 4,000 words.

Upon successful completion, you could progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership at the College.
