Course content

The qualification consists of a total of 7 units.

principles of management and leadership in an organisational context
managing stakeholder relationships
managing conflict
managing projects to achieve results
managing change
creating and delivering operational plans
managing finance.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a level 2 qualification in both English and maths. Additionally, you must have successfully achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Management and Leadership, or possess equivalent operational management experience.

This qualification is designed for practicing or aspiring managers in roles such as:

operations manager
divisional manager
departmental manager
regional manager
specialist manager.

Before acceptance into the programme, your application will be screened by the Programme Manager. If necessary, a telephone interview will be conducted to ensure you understand the structure and demands of the programme and to discuss your suitability.

The Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership requires four hours of attendance each week, as well as a similar amount of time for private study, research, assignment preparation, and writing.

Assessment methods

There are no formal exams.

You will be assessed via a CMI written assessment per unit (approximately 3,000 to 4,000 words each).
