What's it all about?

This part-time skills development course at City College Plymouth develops independent living or employability skills. Both are offered over two days, with one day focusing on your chosen pathway and one day working on functional skills in English, maths and ICT. The aim of both pathways is to develop independence, confidence, and self-esteem in order to prepare for adulthood and next steps in life. Having successfully completed this study programme you can progress to other College courses, take up a training place or find employment.

Course information

The course aims to:

  • help you become more independent
  • give you more confidence
  • teach you basic work and life skills.

You will work at your own level in basic work and vocational skills.

There are no specific entry requirements. However, you will be invited to attend an informal interview to assess your suitability for the course.

Continuous assessments will take place throughout the course.

Having successfully completed this study programme you can progress to other College courses, take up a training place or find employment.
