What's it all about?

This programme supports learners who are not progressing into employment to develop adult
life skills, including accessing services, budgeting, travel, and forming safe relationships. Emphasis is placed on communication, wellbeing, and responsible citizenship. Learners explore their rights and responsibilities, engage in community visits, and practise navigating semi-independent environments. The course promotes positive self-identity and practical problem-solving, ensuring a smooth and safe transition into adult services, supported living, or community-based opportunities.

  • independent living skills
  • social communication
  • English and maths
  • personal development
  • the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

There are no specific entry requirements for the course, but an interview will assess your suitability for the course.

The course is assessed via coursework and completion of a workbook.

Upon successful completion you may progress to adult social care.
