What's it all about?

This T-Prep Foundation Programmee is an exciting new type of course for school leavers, specifically designed to give you the knowledge and skills that the businesses of today need. If you are looking to make a difference in your community or want to help vulnerable people then this is the course for you!

Designed with employers, including the NHS, a T-Prep Foundation Programme you will give you a head start into the world of work. On successful completion you may be able to progress into employment or onto a level 3 T Level or Apprenticeship.

Course information

Subjects covered include human growth and development, equality and diversity, communication, safeguarding, working in health and social care and the roles and responsibilities of professionals.

In order to be successful on this T-Prep Foundation Programme, you will need to have five GCSEs at grade 3 or above to include English and maths (you will have the opportunity to retake English and maths if you have not gained above a grade 3). You will also be required to have a passion and motivation to support and help people.

You will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence.

Upon successful completion you may progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
or gain employment as a:

  • care support worker in an adult residential setting
  • healthcare assistants in the community or primary and acute health environments
  • care support worker in domiciliary services, support living or day services
  • community-based support worker.
