What's it all about?

This course will get you into your dream job as a hairdresser! If you can put people at ease, like being creative and have loads of patience, then you’ve got a good head start in the skills that you’ll need to make a success of a career in hairdressing. 


Our City & Guilds certificate will provide a thorough grounding in the theory and practice with external visits and competitions to help you find the self-assurance and competence to pursue a career in the hairdressing industry. In order to participate fully within your course, you will need to purchase a kit and uniform. Details available at interview.

Course information

You will study:

  • health and safety in the salon
  • client care and communication
  • promotion and sales
  • cutting techniques
  • colouring techniques
  • styling
  • perming.

In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need the following:

  • four GCSEs at grades 3-1 (D-F) minimum including English and maths
  • equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

You will be assessed continuously for progress and achievement by practical observation, external online tests and assignments.

 

On successful completion you may progress to a level 3 course in hairdressing or an Apprenticeship.
