What's it all about?

This course is ideal if you’ve worked in hairdressing or barbering for some time and want to develop your skills in a specialised area. 

Course information

You will study a range of core barbering topics, including: 

  • advanced gents’ cuts (eg skin fades) 
  • cutting facial hair 
  • wet shaves 
  • health and safety 
  • consultation skills. 

To be successful on this course, you must have a grade 3 or above in GCSE English and maths, along with one of the following: 

  • a GCSE (grade 3 or above) in one other subject 
  • an equivalent qualification 
  • a level 1 qualification in Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Industry. 

You will be assessed through a combination of written exams and practical assessments.
