What's it all about?

This advanced art and design course will get your creative juices flowing! You’ll start with the basics of sculpture, line drawing, ceramics, fashion design and much more, and work your way up to completion of a full level 3 course. Along the way you will exhibit your work and experiment in different techniques. Most of all, you’ll have loads of fun!

Course information

The course covers the following subject areas:

  • visual language
  • research
  • critical and contextual awareness
  • materials, processes and technical skills
  • 2D problem solving
  • 3D problem solving
  • engaging with an audience
  • preparation for progression
  • final major project.

In order to be successful on this course you must have GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C) in English and maths. 

There are no exams. You will be assessed on your coursework – some will be practical, some will be via ‘question and answer’, and some will be presentations. There will be a small amount of written work.

Upon successful completion you may progress to a Degree in Fine Art or another related subject, or gain employment as a freelance artist.
