What's it all about?

Ready to jumpstart your career while learning and earning at the same time? An Apprenticeship is a great way for you to dive straight into your chosen career. You’ll split your time between learning on the job with experienced professionals and attending the College to gain essential knowledge. It’s hands-on, practical, and you’ll be earning a qualification while you work. Expect to build real skills, make connections, and have fun getting a head start in your future career!

As a Junior Production Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of media projects across film, TV, digital, radio, audio, commercials, animation, VFX, and post-production. Working as part of a production team, you’ll help manage the operational aspects of a project, keeping everything on track from pre-production through to final delivery.

Your responsibilities may include coordinating schedules, organising logistics, tracking budgets, and liaising with talent, crew, and clients to ensure all elements come together seamlessly.

This Apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, creative environment, giving you the skills to support productions of all types and scales.

Course information

This Apprenticeship covers key areas, including:

  • creating, managing, and maintaining production documentation, including schedules, production plans, call sheets, and daily reports
  • identifying, obtaining, and managing resources, such as crew, facilities, and media assets, while keeping within budget and timescales
  • supporting financial and compliance processes, ensuring productions meet legal, organisational, and industry standards
  • ensuring compliance with health and safety policies, including contributing to risk assessments
  • working both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to meet production requirements
  • overseeing scheduling, resource management, and production workflows, resolving or escalating issues as needed
  • managing others on productions as required.

You will also have the opportunity to specialise in one of two key areas:

Production Coordination – Supporting the production team by managing logistics, scheduling, clearances, and essential production documentation.

Post-Production Coordination – Assisting with workflow management, scheduling, deliverables, and client liaison within post-production, VFX, or animation.

Spanning 18 months, this Apprenticeship blends practical work experience with structured learning. At least 20% of your time will be dedicated to off-the-job training, developing essential skills through hands-on practice. The remaining 80% will be spent in a production environment, applying your knowledge in real-world scenarios.

For the best chance of success, learners are required to have a minimum of grade 4 (C) in English and maths.

The end point assessment will consist of a presentation with questions, and a professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.

Following successful completion, you could progress onto employment within the sector. This could include roles such as a booking coordinator, a junior booking producer, a production coordinator, etc.

Please note fees are quoted for one year only.
