What's it all about?

In an expanding digital world, cybersecurity has become more and more important. Staying safe and secure involves everyone and every entity — from you and your community to organisations and companies to governments. It’s considered a fundamental necessity.

   

In this introductory course, you’ll cover a wide range of subjects including Computer Systems, the Impact of Cyber Security, Information Technology for Business and the Internet of Everything and become more aware of the dangers from and impacts of cyber security in a business environment.


Course information

You will cover a range of topics, including awareness of cyber threats and security, computer systems, digital communication, programming, securely accessing the internet and web design.

This course is aimed at those with no formal qualifications looking for an appropriate stepping stone into higher level study.   

Assessment is via a portfolio of evidence. There are no exams on this course. 

You could progress to our Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology.
