As a Customer Service Practitioner, you’ll play a crucial role in providing high-quality service across various sectors, from retail and hospitality to finance and healthcare. Whether you’re working face-to-face, over the phone, or online, your ability to communicate effectively and empathise with customers will be key to ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.

Your responsibilities will include engaging with customers to understand their needs, providing accurate information, and offering solutions to their queries. You’ll learn how to handle customer complaints, manage difficult situations, and turn challenges into positive outcomes. Through your training, you’ll develop strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet, ensuring that you can respond to customer needs promptly and efficiently.

Throughout your Apprenticeship, you’ll gain in-depth knowledge of your organisation’s products or services, enabling you to offer informed advice and guidance. You’ll also be trained in essential customer service principles, including the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, active listening, and clear communication.

This Apprenticeship covers various areas including:

  • understanding and delivering excellent customer service
  •  communication and interpersonal skills
  • customer feedback and improvement
  •  product and service knowledge
  • using customer service tools and technology
  •  problem-solving and conflict resolution.
This Apprenticeship spans 12 months, offering apprentices hands-on experience and practical knowledge in various aspects of customer service, including communication, customer engagement, problem-solving, and the use of technology to support service delivery. 

The entry requirements for this Apprenticeship will be decided by the employer, but may typically be five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above.

The end point assessment will consist of an apprentice showcase, a practical observation and a professional discussion.

Following successful completion, you could progress onto employment within the sector. This could include roles such as a customer service representative, a customer assistant, etc.
