As a Digital Support Technician apprentice, you’ll be at the forefront of technical support, helping to maintain and optimise digital systems that are vital to the day-to-day operations of businesses. You will provide support to users, diagnose and resolve IT issues, and ensure that digital tools and applications are effectively utilised.

Your responsibilities will include responding to technical queries, managing software and hardware installations, and providing guidance on the use of digital technologies. You’ll learn how to assist with the setup and maintenance of digital infrastructure, ensuring that systems are secure, up-to-date, and operating at peak performance. Additionally, you’ll be trained to handle cyber security protocols, ensuring that data and systems are protected against potential threats.

Through your Apprenticeship, you’ll develop a deep understanding of digital support processes, including troubleshooting, system maintenance, and user support. You’ll also gain valuable experience in customer service, communication, and teamwork, equipping you with the skills needed to succeed in a fast-paced digital environment. Whether it’s providing technical support or improving digital systems, you’ll play a crucial role in helping businesses thrive in the digital age.

Course information

This Apprenticeship will cover various areas including the following:

  • supporting digital systems and software
  • providing technical support and troubleshooting
  • managing digital information
  • enhancing digital communication
  • optimising digital processes
  • cybersecurity awareness and implementation.
This Apprenticeship spans 15 months, offering apprentices hands-on experience and practical knowledge in various aspects of digital support, including system maintenance, technical troubleshooting, data management, communication, and cybersecurity within a professional environment.

The entry requirements for this Apprenticeship will be decided by the employer, but may typically be five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above.

The end point assessment will consist of a project with a report and a professional discussion.

Following successful completion, you could progress onto employment within the sector. This could include roles such as an IT consultant, a technical support professional, etc.
