As an Event Assistant apprentice, you’ll be at the heart of event planning and execution, working on a diverse range of events, from corporate conferences to weddings and festivals. Your creativity and organisational skills will be essential in ensuring each event runs smoothly and meets the expectations of clients and attendees alike.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating event logistics, liaising with suppliers and vendors, and managing on-site operations to ensure everything goes according to plan. You’ll learn how to support the event planning process from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and marketing. Additionally, you’ll be trained to handle unexpected challenges, ensuring that you can adapt quickly and maintain the quality of the event experience.

Through your Apprenticeship, you’ll develop a strong understanding of event management principles, including client relations, venue selection, and the intricacies of event coordination. You’ll also gain valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, enabling you to contribute effectively to the success of any event.

Course information

This Apprenticeship will cover various areas including the following:

  • event planning and coordination
  • venue and supplier management
  • marketing and promotion
  • budget management and financial planning
  • customer service and client relations
  • health and safety and event compliance.
This Apprenticeship spans 18 months, offering apprentices hands-on experience and practical knowledge in various aspects of event management, including planning, coordination, marketing, budgeting, and compliance within a professional environment.

The entry requirements for this Apprenticeship will be decided by the employer, but may typically be five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above.

The end point assessment will consist of a project, a portfolio of evidence and a professional discussion.

Following successful completion, you could progress onto employment within the sector. This could include roles such as an event manager, a venue manager, etc.
