As a Hospitality Supervisor apprentice, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring exceptional service and operational excellence. As a Hospitality Supervisor, you’ll oversee a variety of services within hotels, restaurants, bars, and catering establishments, ensuring that every guest leaves with a memorable experience.

Your responsibilities may include supervising and coordinating the activities of your team, maintaining high standards of customer service, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This Apprenticeship offers a diverse range of experiences and opportunities to develop your leadership and operational skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Course information

This Apprenticeship will cover various areas including:

  • supervising hospitality operations and staff
  • managing customer service
  • overseeing food and beverage service
  • handling housekeeping, reception, and reservations
  • ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
This Apprenticeship spans 12 months, combining practical work experience with study. At least 20% of your time will be dedicated to off-the-job training, where you’ll gain valuable knowledge and skills through structured learning and hands-on practice. The remaining 80% will be spent working within a hospitality environment, applying your learning in real-world scenarios such as managing diverse teams, enhancing customer experiences, ensuring smooth operations across various hospitality functions, and maintaining the standards that contribute to the success of hospitality businesses.

Employers will set their own entry requirements, but it is expected that the individual would have worked with an operational role within the industry prior to the start of the Apprenticeship.

The end point assessment will consist of an on-demand test, a practical observation, a business project and a professional discussion.  

Following successful completion, you could progress onto employment within the sector. This could include roles such as a catering manager, a chef, an event manager, etc.
