The performance unit will enable you to demonstrate occupational competence. The unit focuses upon the occupational competence required to plan and prepare for, install (including testing and commissioning) and handover of grid connected solar photovoltaic systems with an electrical output of up to five kilowatt peak (kWp) connected to both single and three–phase installations.

This qualification has a knowledge and performance unit which between them cover the competencies for the installation of small scale solar PV systems. It is specifically for electricians who wish to upgrade their skills.
On successful completion you may wish to progress to another electrical course at the College, such as Inspection and Testing, Battery Storage or Electric Vehicle Charging.
