City College Plymouth offers this construction course for those who enjoy all aspects of construction or are unsure which trade to choose. The Level 1 City & Guilds Construction Skills course provides training in all the main construction trades, including plastering, painting and decorating, carpentry, brickwork, and plumbing. It will teach you about basic construction techniques and skills, the various materials used and allow you to practice in an industry simulated environment, achieving nationally recognised trade credits.

There are no specific entry requirements, however an initial assessment must be taken and maths and English at entry level 3 must be demonstrated. Willingness to engage and a genuine interest in the course will enable you to progress into employment or further your education.
Successful completion of this course will enhance your employment/apprenticeship opportunities and enable you to progress to a level 1 course at the College in the area of construction which interests you.
