What's it all about?

Delivered in partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and Pluss, this programme offers a fully immersive internship experience.

Students rotate through three hospital departments, gaining hands-on experience in roles such as catering, administration, or portering. With daily job coaching, targeted employability training, and therapeutic input where needed, students develop professional conduct, resilience, and communication.

The intent is to transition students into paid employment by equipping them with real-world skills and confidence within a supportive team environment. Students benefit from high employer engagement and clear progression routes into work.

Course information

The course covers:

  • work placements  
  • English and maths.

This course is delivered in partnership with PLUSS, giving learners additional support and practical skills to boost their confidence and career prospects.

As part of this programme, you may also have the opportunity to complete the Level 2 Award in Employability.

In order to be successful on this course, you will need to:

  • have completed an entry-level three programme
  • an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
  • be living at a Plymouth address. 

The course is assessed via coursework and completion of a workbook.

Upon successful completion, students may progress to paid employment.
