What's it all about?

From healthcare to space travel, science underpins much of the modern world and is integral to industries that lead the development of new technologies and innovations. This course is designed to provide you with the stepping stone onto a full T Level in a range of fields including science technical services, healthcare science and health.

You will complete a Trilogy GCSE (3 GCSEs) in science alongside your GCSE English and Maths. This will be underpinned by coverage of National Technical Outcomes that will provide you with the skills and knowledge to progress onto a full T Level. Not only that, you’ll have access to a personal tutor to guide your studies and will be supported to complete an Industrial Placement giving you real hands-on experience of working in Science.

Course information

Your GCSE in Combined Science will cover aspects of biology (cells, infection, genetics and ecology), chemistry (atoms, bonding, reactions and materials) and physics (energy, electricity, forces and waves).

Anyone who does not meet the entry requirements for full T Levels will be able to apply (you’ll need GCSE Grade 5 or above in English, maths and science). We will also accept applications from those who have Grade 3 in English, maths and/or science who are looking to build their grade profile for future employment or study.

The course is assessed via external assessment/exams set and marked by the exam board (AQA). You will also produce a portfolio of evidence linked to the National Technical Outcomes.

Upon successful completion of the programme you will be able to progress onto a full T Level in Science, Healthcare Science or Health.
