What we Offer for Adult Learners
Covering a broad range of learning areas such as health and beauty, hospitality, engineering and so much more, these are courses that focus on skills that you can use in the workplace, which can help to further your career.
City College Plymouth offers a range of higher education university-level courses in partnership with Plymouth Marjon University and the University of Plymouth.
Access courses are one year courses that bring you up to speed with the skills and qualifications necessary to enter a degree-level course either at the College or at a university.
GCSEs in English, maths and the sciences are often required as a starting point before you can study further. Gain these essential skills qualifications to unlock a brighter future with an access course or degree.
English is the foundation of all of our courses, so if it’s not your first language, an ESOL course will unlock a world of study opportunities for you!
Speak to us about your staff training needs, from management and professional skills to more technical industry-specific qualifications. Many of our courses can be offered free of charge, or with a small co-payment per employee.
Whether you’re changing careers or upskilling with your current employer, with over 1,500 apprentices currently learning while they work through City College, we’re sure to find the right fit for you.
Adults living in the UK who don’t hold a maths and English GCSE are entitled to study these for free at the College.
Gain new skills and qualifications from the comfort of your home with our wide variety of online courses.
Multiply Maths
Multiply Maths is a new government-funded programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills.
